Based in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, Australia, Bare Beets are the family band that keeps on giving.

They are the new kids on the block and have set out to share their unique blend of rock, pop, and electronic music with the universe.

Their passion for music started a long time ago, with Mark's (bass) father instilling the love and teaching him guitar and bass from 12 years of age. Over the years Mark was always playing music with his siblings and other bands. Mark's children: Kayla (lead vocals), Nat (drums) and Paige (keys/synth) of course were destined to adore music and were always handed an instrument growing up. Plus seeing their dad perform was just awesome and they wanted in! The family became a cover band for a short while, playing at some RSL's on the Sunshine Coast but really wanted to focus on writing and performing their own music.

Paige began studying a Bachelor of Music at QUT which kickstarted the 4-piece family band: Bare Beets. It was now their time to start creating their own sound. After writing a few songs (NBD, The Night and Mr. Badtimes), the band had decided that their music needed to be more dynamic, they wanted a lead guitarist. It wasn't long until a young man (Jacob) had contacted the group, after a couple of rehearsals Jacob fitted like a glove.

They now had found their missing puzzle piece and the tracks began sounding incredibly more diverse. The bands influences are endless thus making it difficult to pinpoint them to a specific genre of music. Bare Beets go from building rock riffs and leads like the Foo Fighters to huge backing vocals like Queen. Even some funky bass lines like Tame Impala. Each track is individual to its influences (both old school and new) making them unique in sound but still contain the essence of Bare Beets.

The band released their debut self-titled EP in March 2021 and had recorded and produced these five tracks (NBD, The Night, Nothing, Mr. Badtimes, Give It Up) themselves from home. The group are immensely proud of this achievement. It doesn’t end here; the ball continues to roll as they have just released their latest single: I Bet! For this track they collaborated with local Brisbane producer: Sam Woods.

Alongside recording, they have started making their way in amongst the Brissy music scene. Playing at venues such as; Greaser, BackDock Arts, The Brightside, TomCat, and O'Skulligans.

This is a dream come true for the family and are so happy to be sharing their music.

There is plenty more to come, so stick around and get on the beets.

I Bet

Our latest track

As of Friday September 24th, 'I Bet' became available for your ears on all platforms. The group are super excited to share this song as they just LOVE IT!

Nat (drums) wrote this song after getting some inspo from a Foo Fighters track. "The song is about seeing mistakes made, and knowing they are going to happen again" - Nat. 'I Bet' gives sexy, grungy, 80-90's style pop/rock vibes, that just progresses into a incredibly dynamic sound! "Think if Foo Fighters and No Doubt had a song baby" - Kayla (lead vocals). The bands favourite part of the song has to be the last 30-40 seconds... it is the ultimate grand finale, a real head banger!

A single launch gig is booked for Thursday 14th of October @ TomCat in Brisbane (Fortitude Valley). It will be Free Entry so come along!! Music from 9pm.
